Parent Association

Every parent with a child enrolled in Sunrise School of Miami is required to join the Parent Association. Through annual dues, the PA offers a variety of lectures and workshops and supports the goals of the Sunrise School of Miami.
The PA is broken down into three main committees and their subcommittees:

Heads – This committee puts together the lectures and workshops held throughout the year to support parents, along with the school, learning about Waldorf Education. Heads also oversee the development of Fund Raising, outreach and community events and more.

Hearts – The Hearts group of the PA works to help nurture a culture of mindfulness in which the school community and community at large feel welcomed and appreciated. These efforts are through hosting Faculty Appreciation Lunches, Teas, Social Gatherings, Family Fun Nights, specialty teacher support and more.

Hands – Hands contribute through their physical outreach and labor to the school. Beautification days and playground renewal are some of the special ways parents have helped to make Sunrise School of Miami a special place for all the children. The Craft (Handwork) Group is a part of the Hands, teaching parents of all skill levels how to make Waldorf crafts. The items are made and subsequently sold at various venues.

The PA meets on the first Monday of every month starting at with a 15 minute social time at 6:45PM and the business meeting beginning at 7:00PM to 8:00PM. Please join us!
